A plaque has been unveiled in memory of General Sir William Jackson, former governor of Gibraltar and Chairman of the Friends, close to the top of the "Rock of the Gibraltarians".

We have refurbished the Marsham Great Siege murals in the Convent Courtyard which were beginning to crumble away and needed urgent attention. See the Chairman's Report.

The picture shows the unveiling of a sculpture of the Rock, carved from a piece of the Rock at the Royal Marines Museum in Southsea. It commemorates the long association of the Royal Marines with Gibraltar. This project was initiated by FOGHS.

Another major project was the renovation of Parsons Lodge which is now a tourist attraction, and plans are afoot to make a conference centre nearby. £6000 was raised by the Friends to assist the Gibraltar Heritage Trust to proceed with this project.   See the Chairman's Report

FOGHS raised £5,000, as well as securing £50,000 from the Manifold Trust, for the exterior of City Hall, which has now been refurbished. We have currently raised £10,000 which was handed over by HRH The Duke of Gloucester (our Patron), for the refurbishment of the interior, specifically the Mayors Parlour.  See the report on the Opening and Restoration, the Chairman's Report and Interactive Map pictures
